The Best Baby Toys

There are so many different kinds of toys that you can get for your child, including small toys like rattlers and stuffed animals that sing to your child all the way up to the big ones like jungle gyms and bouncy seats.

Each type of toy can do different things for your child, including help develop their motor skills, provide them with fun, and more.

There are many toys that are considered more educational than others and are said to promote intelligence, such as the toys with the abstract designs that are colored in nothing but black and red and white. How effective these are is definitely debatable, but some people claim they do help.

Some of the best toys to buy for a baby (not ones that are best for promoting intelligence, but simply ones that are best for keeping baby entertained) are the ones that light up and play music.

Noise and lights, these are usually the two best things to choose for your child if you want them to actually stay occupied for any length of time at all. Another excellent toy that not many parents know about is the toy that hangs down from the handle of the carseat.

There are many different varieties of this type of toy, but again, the best one is the kind that lights up and plays music when your child hits it. These actually accomplish two things at once. They occupy your child (you may want to keep these in mind if you will be taking a lengthy road trip with your baby, as well), plus they help their motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Other good toys for babies include jumpers that hang from doorframes. These work well in several ways: they provide an excellent way for your child to develop their motor skills, they provide entertainment, possibly for long periods of time, and they also provide exercise for your child.

There are many other toys that provide similar benefits as this type, as well, such as walkers and saucers. While a walker isn't technically considered a toy, when your baby starts moving around in it, they will view it as one, especially if you put suction cup toys on the front tray that they can play with while they are walking around.

Some good toys to get for baby are walking toys, the kind that have heavy weight at the bottom, and a bar for baby to pull up on, then they can take off pushing it across the room even before they can walk.

If you are looking for smaller toys that will actually occupy your baby for a considerable length of time, it is a good idea to buy toys that resemble things the parents have. This can include toy pots and pans, a toy cell phone, a toy steering wheel (these are fun to take in the car with you so that baby can drive while you drive) and many others.

Since babies tend to prefer non-toys over toys any day, it only makes sense to buy the things that resemble what they aren't supposed to have.

Granted, your baby may not want this toy because you gave him permission to play with it, but it might work for a while anyway.

Other good toys for baby that can make them think and evaluate what they are playing with is the little toys (sometimes these are in the shape of a house or other item) that have holes in them on the top. They come with toy balls (make sure these are way too big to fit in baby's mouth) and the baby puts the ball in the hole and watches it go through a sort of maze, and then has to retrieve it at the bottom.

No matter what kind of toy you buy for your baby, it is important to keep variety. Getting new toys often can keep your baby occupied for a much longer period of time.
