Kids Bedding Gift Giving
When considering kids bedding or baby bedding as a gift for a child, it might first cross your mind that they would rather have a toy instead. This is probably true in many cases, but if it is planned just right, a new set of kids bedding or baby bedding can be a fun gift.
For example, it is an excellent gift to give to a child who has just moved to a different bed. Many times it sort of represents that they have officially become a big kid. If they were sleeping in a crib with baby blankets, and moved to a toddler bed, and now they are big enough to get their own matching blanket and sheets that are plastered with their favorite character, they will likely really enjoy receiving these as a gift. Or, in the same manner, if they were in a toddler bed, and they are getting bumped up to a twin or even full bed, then it would also be a great gift for them to receive. It also helps a lot of times if it is more than just the bedding. Whatever theme you decide to go with, it is great to not only give them an entire set of kids bedding, but also curtains and posters of the same theme. Even a matching rug can help. At even as young as 2 years of age, a child can really be pleased with their entire bedroom being decorated in a theme of their preference, especially if it is a theme that they are specifically fond of anyway.
It can definitely get expensive doing this, and bedding still isn’t as fun as a toy to receive, so one good way to tackle this issue is to get many people involved in the gift. For example, one person can give him a sesame street comforter and sheet set, another person can give the throw pillows in the shape of the characters’ heads, one person can give a matching rug and another can give curtains and posters. This way, each person isn’t spending much money on the kids bedding, and can each buy toys as gifts as well. In the end, the child will not only have a newly decorated room with their favorite theme, but will also have a bunch of new toys to play with in it.
Another thing to consider is age, and what they are interested in. Most of the time, these two factors go hand in hand, but sometimes they don’t. This is why it is important to consider both. Just because a child is of an age that they might be interested in something doesn’t mean they are. It is best, if you are unsure, but are just trying to judge by age, to check with the parents of the child. Some might say ask another child of that age what they would like, but this still isn’t the best way to go. While there are always the popular items that most kids love, not everyone does love them. And, it is also good to remember how fast the fads change at a young age. Whatever is newest is what is in, and that could change practically overnight, and it’s not good to buy them something that they will no longer want in 2 months.
Instead, asking a friend of that child what they are currently interested in can help you choose the best theme or color scheme. It is also a good idea to pay close attention to what posters or other decorations are in the child’s room currently. If the theme will be different than what is currently there, you will want to at least make sure that the colors are at least similar. It is actually good to pay close attention to the colors even if you are sticking with the same theme that is currently in the room, because some blankets can be found in a wide variety of color schemes, but with the same cartoon character plastered on them.
So, even though many kids might rather have a toy as a gift than new bedding, with proper consideration kids bedding or baby bedding can become an excellent gift for a child.
